“Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books that are now written in a very foreign tongue. Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer.” - Rainer Maria Rilke
The next two decades promise a full-scale revolution in our working lives. Before we look into the next 20 years, let’s take a quick look at the present. Coaching is not another name for therapy – it is exclusively focused on career-based vocational insights and how to enable individuals to identify, prioritise, creatively problem-solve and implement choices around achieving their goals, today.
Based in Cape Town, I specialise in career coaching and equipping individuals and teams to navigate the challenges and potential of a fast changing world of work. I also facilitate experiences aimed at taking individuals over the threshold of their own potential as valuable role-players in society, by teaching them important principals for the coming Fifth Industrial Revolution such as Curiosity, Authenticity and Human-Centred Data gathering.
The Fifth Industrial Revolution will be about what it means to be human. It will be a dance between machines and humans. Now, if we think about the fifth industrial revolution, in a time where we often feel defined by tech and data, it is perhaps becoming clear that we don’t actually know that much about what it means to be human? We can, however, take what we have learnt from the fourth industrial revolution and let that give rise to a new and fresh appreciation of humanity.
